mmm, the burning question, What to expect at your Neutral Newborn Photoshoot? A photoshoot may be a completely new experience for you, or you are a seasoned baby maker and know what to expect:)
This is an amazing time for you and I want to make it as memorable as possible, you have just pushed a baby out, you deserve the best.
How long will it take?
Not all newborns behave, sometimes I can be done in an hour, but please allow 3. Please allow enough time for feeding, comforting, chatting and a hot cup of tea or coffee. With this in min, patience is key, as newborns can be unpredictable, your baby is not on a schedule, feeding and pooping when they want. I just can’t predict how the session is go, therefore prepare for the worst.
My warm and Cozy studio space
My studio space is so warm and cozy, you won’t want to leave. This is to ensure the baby’s comfort, as newborns are sensitive to temperature changes. The cozy environment helps keep the baby relaxed, making it easier to get them to sleep (fingers crossed). Fret not, awake photos are just as beautiful.
I am the baby whisperer
or so legends have said 🙂 Gentle techniques are used to soothe and calm the baby during the shoot. The session may include soft music, white noise, or gentle rocking to help keep the baby settled.
To pose or not to pose
I am skilled at posing babies in adorable and natural positions, using the best lights. I don’t do anything crazy, just beautiful moments with you and your new addition. Blankets, hats, or wraps may be used to create beautiful setups while ensuring the baby is safe and warm.
Parents
I include parents in all my shoots. If you really don’t want to be in any photos I may just use your hands, so make sure they are squeaky clean, free of chipped nail polish and orange tanned streaks.
We were on a break
There is lots of time for breaks, you and your baby need it. I don’t rush, so please don’t ask me to. I will make coffee/tea or a shot of tequila if you wish. Dad’s get super grumpy, but try to ignore it for this short time 🙂
Lot’s of variety
The photographer will aim to capture a variety of shots, including close-ups of the baby’s face, full-body shots, and detail shots of tiny fingers and toes. They may also incorporate different props and backdrops to add diversity to the final collection.
Neutral Color Palette
As it’s a neutral-themed photoshoot, expect a color palette consisting of soft, muted tones. This creates a timeless and elegant look that emphasises the baby’s features. If you would prefer lots of colour and flower headbands I am not the photographer for you, sorry.
Take my lead
I will guide you to where I want you, so don’t worry, you won’t be left to pose yourself. I will set you up in the most natural poses with the best light.
How long till I get my photos?
Not long at all, usually in a couple of days, a week if it’s really busy.
